Regional Economic Strategy for Melbourne's South East (2003)

Melbourne’s south east region comprises eleven municipalities with a resident population (2006) of in excess of one million people and with output in excess of $30 billion (1990).

The challenge for the region is to create high value employment and increase the diversity of job opportunities in the region and to build on the extensive employment, education and manufacturing base to advance innovation, business services, expert development and growth of knowledge-based products and services.
