Devonport CBD Investment and Development Strategy (2012)
The Devonport CBD Investment and Development Strategy is a projects based approach for the revitalisation of the Devonport CBD and the consolidation of the City's regional service role.
The Strategy provides a clear framework for a cohesive and revitalised CBD through three major pojects:
- Civic Office Project: Focussed on the revitalisation of the southern CBD;
- Regional Shopping Centre Project: New regional precinct linking the Kmart Plaza complex to the historic retail core;
- Riverside Plaza Project: Fulfulling a long held vision to open the heart of the CBD to the Mersey River and riverside parklands.
The overall economic and employment effect of the projects to the local and district community will be significant and Devonport City Council is currently in the process of implementing the Plan.
