Visitor Information Centre and National Parks and Wildlife Service Feasibility Study, Gloucester (2010)

Visitor Information Centre and National Parks and Wildlife Service Feasibility Study, Gloucester (2010)

The principal objectives of the study can be summarised as:

  • investigate the desirability and financial benefit that could be achieved through the combining of the National Parks and Wildlife Service offices and Visitor Information Centre functions within a single site;
  • financial analysis to support financing for the construction and fit-out of new and combined Visitor Information Centre and offices for the National Parks and Wildlife Service - a 'tourism centre';
  • to determine the benefit to the Gloucester Shire economy of a new and relocated Visitor Information Centre.

The key findings provide a case that there is a need for a new VIC facility providing improved facilities, which needs to be more strategically located to maximise visibiity and accessibility to passing traffic.
